Company History
01
My City Allstars was founded by Tamar Hill. In 2001, Tamar started the Spartan Allstars Girls Basketball Camp, a half-day girls basketball camp that ran successfully for years. Her favorite part of the camp was that her current and former players helped teach skills to the future players. By coaching the game themselves, it made them better players and improved their confidence. In the summer of 2011, while serving as the high school's athletic director, it dawned on her that not all sports had the opportunity to host a camp. She also noted that many parents in her community both had to work and needed full-day care for their children in the summer. Her experiences as an overnight camp counselor in New Hampshire during college came flooding back, and she was inspired! She talked to the other coaches on campus about joining in and the plan was set into motion. In 2012, Spartan Allstars officially opened as a full day, coed, multi-sports day camp. The camp quickly grew into the most popular sports camp in Southern California! Everywhere in the country she travels, when parents learn about her camp, they ask her when she will open a camp in their neighborhood. Mission Statement
We strive to unite communities through the power of play.
Vision Statement
02
Our vision is to instill a life-long love of fitness and exercise in all kids. Participants are exposed to a variety of sports and activities that they might not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in, or try. They learn to appreciate all sports, not just the handful of options that may be readily available outside of camp or in which they may already excel. Additionally, “wear and tear” on these young athletes is limited due to the cross-training nature of schedules and variability of activities.

About The Founder
03
Tamar Hill is the director and founder of My City Allstars. She is a graduate of Palo Alto (California) High School and Occidental College (Los Angeles, California). During college, Hill worked for four summers at Pierce Camp Birchmont, a sleep-away sports camp in New Hampshire. After earning a Master's degree at Occidental, she was hired by La Canada High School where she taught biology for 16 years. In addition to teaching, she coached the Girls Varsity Basketball team for 14 seasons, spent 2 years as the ASB advisor, and 3 years as the athletic director. Hill founded Spartan Allstars in 2001 as a girls basketball camp and in 2012 transitioned it into an all-day coed sports camp. The camp became a hit and quickly grew into the most popular sports camp in Southern California. Now, she's decided to franchise her successful camp formula as My City Allstars!
