Camps
My City Allstars sports day camps introduce kids to a diverse range of sports and activities from track, football and yoga, to soccer and hip hop dance. Our programming is designed to develop skills, teamwork, and expand your child’s interests and experience. Currently, a popular trend is to have kids specialize in a sport at a young age, but research has proven this isn’t necessarily good for children physically, socially, or emotionally. In addition, multi-sports camps give parents a cost effective way to expose their kids to a variety of activities without having to invest the time or money in equipment.
Certain My City Allstars locations will host Camps. Find your MCA location to inquire if they run events in your neighborhood.

Groups
Groups
Campers are divided into groups by age, grade, and in some cases by gender. It is important that sports camp groupings account for safe and fair competition.
Typically, group sizes run anywhere from 13–17 campers depending on the age of the group.
Junior Counselors
Junior Counselors
Junior counselors (JCs) play a vital role at My City Allstars sports camps. Participants in the JC program must be 13–14 years of age and entering 8th or 9th grade. The purpose of the JC program is to give early teens the opportunity to develop leadership skills, gain work experience, and reinforce sports skills by teaching them to others. JCs are assigned to work with head coaches, the media team, or a specific age group to teach campers basic game skills, be proactive, and participate in and organize activities led by coaches. JCs gain volunteer hours and learn valuable lifelong skills. They also serve an integral purpose in the camps’ special activities.
Although JCs are not technically campers and are transitioning into more of a leadership role, they are still young and under the supervision of the staff. Typically, two JCs are assigned to each group, often one male and one female.
JCs should not expect to be assigned with their friends, in fact, we find that it can be counterproductive in their leadership development. In order to gain the most from the program JCs are expected to follow staff instructions, be at their designated locations, and are expected to proactively participate in camp activities throughout the day. Tuition includes two JC shirts, which must be worn daily.
